Asr

Pertaining to the importance of Asr prayer, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “He who observes Al-Bardan (i.e. Fajr and Asr prayers) will enter Jannah.” (Bukhari) This hadith points towards the added advantage of offering both these prayers on time. The reason why stress is given on both these prayers is because at the time of Fajr it is difficult to wake up from sleep and offer prayer while at the time of Asr people are either busy or feel tired because of all day working, so the importance of these two prayers is collectively mentioned. On one another place Prophet Muhammd (PBUH) said: “He who misses the Asr Salat (deliberately), his deeds will be rendered null and void.”(Bukhari) From the hadith the punishment of missing Asr prayer deliberately is clearly mentioned.” Therefore, one must make sure not to miss Asr prayer.
